The earliest pickups we made were in various shades of brown, the natural color of the resin depending on the oil’s origin. At the time the most common request was for a black finish. Now we’re full circle and tinting pickups caramel and chocolate to emulate those original plastics.
For wood finishes, we often do the continuous look like we do with the backplates. Especially when you have a premium wood that’s bookmatched to center, the look is captivating. You can also mix and match your favorite woods. We can either construct a complete box to encase the pickup in or just cap the top and mounting flanges with wood and keep the black or brown polyurethane sides.
