AlemBIC CRew

People are the most valuable asset here at Alembic. Every product we make is a collaboration, and having a close-knit group working together really makes a difference in the products we create.
Ron Wickersham

RON WICKERSHAM

This is our fearless leader and co-founder, Ron Wickersham. When he’s not engineering Alembic products, you’ll find him reading and learning about about everything interesting in the Universe.

Susan Wickersham

SUSAN WICKERSHAM

Susan Wickersham is the co-founder of Alembic. Susan is currently the president and CEO. Susan is our artistic director, and is responsible for the design of instruments and most custom inlays. Susan and Ron started Alembic when she was 18 years old, and it’s the only place she’s ever worked.

Mary Nelson

MARY NELSON

Mary has been with Alembic since 1980. She purchases raw materials and shop supplies, does the invoicing, has specific customers she is responsible for in sales and does customer service. Her eagle-eye is final inspection for every Alembic. It’s not fit to ship until Mary says so.

Bob Nelson

BOB NELSON

Bob is the shop foreman and production coordinator at Alembic. He knows how to do just about every step in building our instruments and has been at Alembic since 1980. He is the main programmer for our CNC machine and is in charge of training all new employees in the shop. He also sprays. Bob also is chief wood hunter here and frequently travels to select and purchase the woods we use. Bob is an award-winning woodturner does exquisite wood turnings of vases, plates and bowls. He also does beautiful inlay work. Truth be known, he’d rather be fishing!

James Fisher

JAMES FISHER

James has been with Alembic since 1987. He started in the wood shop where he excelled at carving. When a position opened up in the set-up department, he moved in and we are glad he did. James’ setup work is legendary, and he does it all as a left-handed player. We like to say we make slightly better left-handed guitars than right-handed ones. James does lovely inlay work and hand engraving on metal and shell. He shapes the top bracing on the Element guitars and tap tunes them along with Mica.

Mica Wickersham Thomas

MICA WICKERSHAM THOMAS

Mica has been at Alembic her whole life. But she got her first paycheck in 1987. She is currently the General Manager, but her other responsibilities include photography, graphic design, customer service, and product development. Mica and James do the tap-tuning on our acoustic tops together.

Kris Worden

KRIS WORDEN

Kris has been with Alembic since 1991. He is definitely the quintessential craftsman and tool maker. We like to refer to him as the "jig master" because he is responsible for many of the jigs and fixtures that we use around the shop. Kris is also an inlay artist extraordinaire. He is ever ready to help his co-workers and is always thinking of new ways to improve their techniques.

Bill Thomas

TREVOR LINDSEY

Trevor has been a part of the Alembic family for decades. First as a customer, then as our demonstrator at the NAMM shows. Trevor has played Alembic basses as a profressional session player since the 1980s. Most recently, he’s become our mentor for acoustic guitar building.

Tom Anderson

TOM ANDERSON

Tom has been engineering at Alembic since 2020. You’ll find him with Ron sometimes until the wee hours of the morning. Tom is also a bass player.

Jesse Nelson

JESSE NELSON

Jesse started working at Alembic in 2022. He’s learned many skills here, concentrating on electronics and pickups. He also works in organizing materials for the shop, final inspection, and historic records management.

Michael Whittington

MICHAEL WHITTINGTON

Michael worked at Alembic in the 1980s doing finish rubouts. He returned in 2022 and does a variety of tasks around the shop. Michael is also the bass player for The Pulsators.

William Anderson

WILLIAM ANDERSON

William joined Alembic in 2023. He’s been working in the electronics assembly area, specializing in surface mount boards. William is also taking on the task of getting the electronics components inventory organized in a database.

Keanu

KEANU SEFEROVICH

Keanu started in 2025 and is intereseted in absolutely everything. His approach is to find better and more efficient ways to do things. Keanu is busy learning skills in nearly every department, including machine maintenance.

Koty

KOTY THOMAS

Koty stops in from time to time to make sure we are all safe. He loves to check out every corner of the shop and always spends lots of extra time with Bob and Mary.
